Anthony Wang
I'm an undergraduate at Harvard University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. My work centers on synthetic organic chemistry and biomedical research — most recently studying photoexcited nitroarene reactivity at NYU's Parasram Lab and the role of Kidney Injury Molecule-1 (KIM-1) in lipotoxic kidney injury at Harvard Medical School.
Outside the lab, I've spent the past several years building community through chess: directing tournaments for hundreds of students each year with Chess in the Schools, and founding a free public chess club in Brooklyn that now draws over 100 attendees weekly. I've also worked in municipal finance and advocated before the NYC Council for cafeteria renovations affecting 1.1 million students.
I'm a Gates Scholar, LEDA Scholar, and Futures & Options Scholar.
